Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Ankara Festival Organization (“AFLA”, “we”) collects when you use ankarafestival.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers ticket purchases, designer applications and general use of the site.

Information we collect

When you buy tickets, we collect your name, email address and phone number, and a mailing address if you choose to provide one — it is optional and not required to complete a purchase. We also record what you bought, the amount, and the tickets issued to you.

When you apply to showcase as a designer, we collect the information you enter on the application form, including your brand and contact details, social links, and any logo or artwork file you upload.

If you subscribe to updates, we collect your email address.

Our hosting and analytics providers automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability purposes.

Payment information

Card payments are processed by Square. Your card number, expiry and security code are entered directly into Square's hosted fields and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We receive only a confirmation of payment, the amount, and a reference identifying the transaction. Square's own privacy policy governs its handling of your payment data.

How we use your information

• To process your order, issue your tickets and email your confirmation
• To admit you at the door — your entry code is checked against your order
• To contact you about the event you purchased, including any change of time or venue
• To review and respond to designer applications
• To send festival updates, where you have asked to receive them
• To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

• Square — payment processing
• Resend — sending your ticket confirmation and festival email
• Supabase — the database holding orders, tickets and applications
• Vercel — website hosting and delivery

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of attendees, staff and the public.

How long we keep it

Order and ticket records are retained for as long as needed to run the event and to meet tax and accounting requirements. Designer applications are retained for the festival cycle they relate to, and for a reasonable period afterwards to inform future selection. You can ask us to delete information sooner, subject to those obligations.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from festival email at any time using the link in any message, or by replying to us. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies and local storage needed to make it work — for example to keep your ticket selection while you move to checkout. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls limiting it to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the festival and its systems change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
